Hi, Time for June's Gig Review, Once again still quiet, but starting to pick up, It given me some time to do more things what I have been putting off and wanting to do for some time, Been clearing the sheds and doing some car boots, the amount you keep putting aside and saying you might need at a later Date and you never do, and of course been doing more fishing.
Monday 7th June, Silver Star CMC, Moorlands Railway Club, Newark Rd, Lincoln. Run by my very good friends Nick & Anita, A new venue for the club, and may I say better than the last one, more atmosphere, and a lot more people, I played to a full house and had a great time, made lots more new friends, and thank you to all my old friends who never miss me when I am down there in that area, the usual crowd from Leadenham were in attendance, If you are around on the club night, (Check Gig Guide In X Country) call in you will enjoy. Thank you for a great night and making me and my good lady welcome.
8th Moorends Comrades Club, Thorne, Doncaster Nice to be back here, nice surprise when I got the phone call, thought this club had finished with country, not a full house but the people who were in attendance were country people, and line dancers, a nice club and a friendly atmosphere, the dancers were up all night and request were in abundance, (Thank you), I do hope they keep this going, always made welcome, with Friendly bar staff, and for once it wasn't raining, this was the first time I had been without it raining. Hello Again My Country Friends, Hope All Is Well With You All, Not A Lot To Give You This Month, Still Quiet, But It Is Giving Me Time To Do Things I Have been Putting Of For A Long time, And Go To Places I Have Promised Myself To Go To But never Got Off. Had a weeks fishing in Lincolnshire at Frog Hall Fisheries in Legborough, Took the motorhome, had a cracking week, cauaght some great Carp, Tench and lots more. 2nd May, Double booked at Market Weighton, But Derrick put it right and gave me a re booking in August, the 22nd to be precise. Looking forward to going back, Great Club with a good following and a great atmosphere, See you all soon
4th, Humber St Andrews, Anlaby Rd, Hull. What a great club, Love going, a great country audience, and a full house once again, Lots of requests, for the usual songs, wouldn't get out of the club if I did not perform them, Ha Ha, If you are at a loose end and you are nearby on a Tuesday evening give them a visit, I am sure Mike And his good Lady (They Run The Tuesday Evenings) will make you more than welcome, and you will always get a little bite to eat courtesy of Flo, who, provides a little buffet free of charge, It is something she likes to do for people and she has done it for years, Thank You Flo. Looking forward to being with you again in January 2011
10th, The gate Inn, Burton On Trent (Ivor & Diane's Club) This is the new venue for this club, used to be just up the road at the Black Horse, It is a great little room, and a nice pub, the landlord made us very welcome and gave a hand in with the gear, Made us a great pot of tea too, A big pot full. Ivor was his usual self cracking jokes and making people laugh, Likes his banter does Ivor. Had a great night, a proper country listening audience who like the good old country, Thank's for a great night look forward to being with you again.
GONE FISHING
29th, Richmond Con Club, North Yorkshire. Not a proper country venue, But A Nice Venue. They like a little mix, to have a dance and a sing along but nevertheless a great night, nice people the steward and stewardess made us very welcome with a coffee and a tea, and provided us with a drink a little later on in the evening, Thank You for your hospitality, hope to be back with you soon
